Default Fuel pump or PCM?

I have been searching for a fix for 3 months now. This is so random and only started getting really bad recently.

Car starts perfectly fine 50% of the time, starts instantly, no issues. If it starts it runs perfectly fine until I shut it off.

Other times it will crank and not start, checked fuel pressure at rail, nothing.

I replaced the fuel pump relay, fuse and filter, but was told there is another one under the passenger kick panel, but I can't find any pictures or info to back this up.

It's just really random, the other day I left work stopped to get something at home depot. Came out it would not start, just kept cranking. Had it towed home, tried it again, nothing. Came back out an hour later, starts 1st try instantly no cranking.

No security light, so no VATS issues. I'm wondering if it may be a bad PCM. Do fuel pumps randomly stop working for an hour?

Hotwire the pump (temporarily run a fresh 12V wire you can turn on/off), so that the next time it fails to run, you can add your own 12V source and diagnostically verify that is truly the reason for the season

i had the same issue for a while and it was my fuel pump power wire replaced it and have never had a problem, the only other problem ive had was the pump getting too hot but thats not something you should be worried about unless its a frame mounted pump.

I agree with LSx. Also check park/neutral switch if equipped, and don't forget the grounds.

Does this wire just run along the fuel lines on the drivers side?

I had a very similar issue with my LS based car. With the key on had no pressure at the rail whatsoever, and it cranked for a few seconds building pressure until it finally started. I racked my brain forever looking at the battery, relays, fuel pump, regulator etc.

Finally I looked and found there was a code P1632 which was a security measure that disabled the fuel pump for some reason. I cleared that code in my tune and now I'm building pressure just fine with the key on.

Check to see if you have any codes come up.

Finally was able to check the code, and it is for an evap leak. That wouldn't cause this issue would it?
