Default FPR location - Rear VS Front - Drawbacks?

Currently working on the fuel system. I'll be using the factory tank with a lift pump feeding a surge tank. Then form the surge tank to the rail. Are there any proven drawbacks to placing the FPR in the rear of the vehicle VS the front? I think it would be cleaner/easier to mount the FPR right off the surge tank and have a single line going up front to the rails. This will be a rising rate/turbo FPR.

Thanks
