Default simple fuel regulator question

when I remove the factory regulator from the pump assembly do I need to plug anything up or just take it out and leave it

I will be using an adjustable unit under the hood..

also what is a preferred brand to use?? I am leaning towards Aeromotive since thats what the fuel pump is or should I consider a Fuel Lab or Magnafuel unit?

Just gut the diaphragm and put it back, fuel will shoot out of it if you don't. But yes, you can gut it and put it back in.
