Default supply line size

I have read tons of threads about people using stock fuel lines for up to - as in Denmahs case - 800 + hp or more
At what point is a 3/8" line a hindrance from causing heat for being too small, and up to and including flow losses
Yes - one can keep upping the fuel pressure to compensate for the small line but it builds heat and at some point still can not flow enough

What is the fuel flow in gpm or gph for a 3/8 line and for a 1/2" line?

From reading the various posts I am thinking maybe the fuel starvation is partly the lines fault and not so much pump, tune or injectors

thoughts?

3/8" ID or rubber/braided style hose can support the same as a -6AN fitting and thats about 1200hp. As long as there is enough pressure and pump to keep going. FAST rates their 1200hp EZ EFI 2.0 with -6an fittings and -6an hose. 3/8" hard line is OD and not ID so technically 3/8" OD hard line flows less than 3/8" hose.

The issue people run into is pressure vs volume... most will up the fuel line size as a precaution so they have enough volume and the lowering fuel pressure also increase volume. So running two pumps at 50psi is better than 1 pump at 100psi.

heat is only an issue with a non circulated (return less fuel system). The fuel being heated and not used is sent back to the tank in a return setup so the fuel remains relatively cool. Line size comes into play but only to an extent.

Best designed setups use multiple pumps to keep fuel caviation and heating to a minimum.
