Default -10 feed or -8? Starting from scratch...

I'm running a LY6 6.0 with a stage 3 tick turbo cam, T4 S480 and 120# Holley injectors, dual racetronix 430's with one on a Hobbs switch. It will be controlled with Holley dominator EFI and have tunes for 93 and E85. I'm curious if its better to just go -10 and -8 return and call it a day or go -8 feed and -6 return? It will mainly be a street car but it will see occasional track days.

You already know the answer to your own question. If you have the funds and the space for the larger line, do it. It isn't necessary yet, but you will have some overhead for those days when you "what if" a huge combo.

I guess how radical do you plan to go. If you go PTFE it will carry more fuel because the liner is thinner too. I read where -8 PTFE line can carry enough E85 for about 1400 hp and about 2k on gasoline. There is no way I will ever go over these numbers, so I would stick -8 if going PTFE. If I went with the cheaper rubber fuel lines I would probably go -10.

Dont assume anything.

Different brands may have different ID's etc and also the thickness of their fittings.

Teflon hoses are smaller OD for any given size...but their ID isnt always as large as you think !

I recently changed from a -8 alloy hardline to -10 teflon and the fittings on the -10 teflon I used really werent much larger than that hardline in terms of ID.

The actual hose itself was bigger, but the fittings reduce the functional diameter of that hose.

10/8 and just be done with it. its not that much more $ cost wise and then you never have to f/with that particular thing again.

i did 6/6 first and needed more for my current set up. so I went 8/6

now if it turn it up again I'll have to redo everything again for 10/8

thats one fuel system for the price of three!

learn from my mistake
