Fuel pressure drop after prime
My 2000 TA is bleeding fuel pressure after priming. Pressure is fine at idle and load, the problem is only at priming. I have a few questions:
1 - Primes to 55-60, 1 second later there's an audible tick and then the pressure bleeds off. I took a video of this. Tick happens at 0:04. Is this the sound of an injector opening or just the relay switching? I haven't pulled the fuel rail yet to check for leaking injectors. Tick sound injectors or relay?
2 - Looking through the GM manual I do not see a check valve on the fuel pump diagrams other than the fill neck. Is the check valve internally in the pump itself?
3 - Assuming my problem is the check valve, is there any wrong with just priming the pump twice before ignition or is pump failure imminent?
4 - Has anyone bought a fuel line check valve to add into the fuel line after the factory check has failed? All the fuel lines I've seen so far under the car are metal. Not sure if the lines in the tank are metal or hose connections to explore if this is even possible.
Thanks for the help.
