Checking fuel pressure

I have a 99 trans am and been having some trouble getting it to start I was gonna check the fuel pressure because my hunch is it is a fuel pump but every parts store I rent a tester from down not have the correct fitting for the schrader valve does anyone know the correct size fitting or have a link of where I could one or any advice at that fact lol thanks ahead of time for all your help

When you depress the schrader valve, does any fuel come out? I think that would be a indication that you have fuel pressure if so

i found out the schrader valve external thread is AN4. i went to my local hydraulic hose store and got a fitting to mate up with my gage. i did have to remove the valve stem though. it sealed up fine though. good luck

Well I went out and pressed it with a screw driver and got nothing so idk would that for sure be a fuel pump or something stopped up

When you pull your fuel filter does any fuel come out of the lines going to the rail and from the pump? If nothing comes out from the pump side then for sure it is time for a new pump man

Did you do this with the engine on or off?
Turn the key on, engine off, then do it.

$20 fuel pressure gauge.
I have one, works well, correct schrader valve hose.

At the parts store you have to ask for a GM fuel rail pressure test gauge.
