another ? about fuel rails In an earlier post I mentioned I was putting a 6.0 in a G-Body. I have a LQ4 fuel rail that I won't be using but I do have a LS6 fuel rail. The LQ4 has a fuel intake tube and a smaller tube also. I assume is return. The LS6 rail does not have the small tube. Does that mean I don't have to run a return line? Thanks--Lee
You have to regulate the pressure of the fuel in some way or you will have issues with so much pressure the injectors won't open and the fuel pump would probably died every week. You can use a factory corvette pressure regulator/filter or you can use a factory or aftermarket on rail regulators. All will have a return, but some allow the return to be at the back of the car. The only way to have an electric pump without a regulator is to have an expensive pulse width modulated pump and the correct controller for it.

On the camaro, the fp regulator was in the tank, and the return loop was under the car. It LOOKS returnless but as a complete system it was a return style. The early trucks had a return on the rail, the later ones didnt. Yes you need a return loop of some sort, its hard on the pump to dead head it into a closed ended system.
