fuel pump nightmare

fuel pump nightmare 2003 c5 z06
while i was putting the second motor in my car i messed something up and my fuel pump wasn't turning on ( I'm guessing i broke a ground) because i ended up making my own ground right off the fuel pump and everything worked fine ... now I finally just put my new motor in and everything went perfect .. i drove the car to work and back without any issues but once i got home i was clearing codes off the dash (while car was running) and right after i cleared a set of codes the car stalled out and didn't want to fire up .. i need up putting my own power to the fuel pump and the car starts right up .. so my question is .. where or what did i mess up .. fuse is fine all i did before car shut off was clear codes

Did you check the fuel pump relay? Also, I would undo whatever you did to make the pump work again in the first place. I would want the pump to work properly with the stock wiring and maybe you'll find your current problem is related to the problem you originally had.
