Fuel level Gauge issue
Fuel level Gauge issue When the stock tank is a full fuel capacity, where should the needle read on an untouched gauge cluster? At "F"? A few mm past it? I changed my fuel level sensor when I was doing my pump replacement because I had damaged it. Car was 3/4 full prior to making the changes. After the install, it still showed 3/4 full so I figured I was good. Filled the car up with gas, and the needle went past full. Thought nothing of it. Had the car out today logging trans temps and 20 minutes into city driving opened the cutouts on the highway, stabbed it, and my fuel gauge dropped to empty throwing the fuel level sensor high circuit code. Reset the code, and it when back to where it was prior to taking the car out, reading past fuel. I've put only 30 miles on the car since last fill. I'm guessing the new fuel level sensor has gone bad. Time to get back into that tank....again.
