I built one out of thick Schedule 40 PVC five inch wide pipe - short length, one glued end cap, one threaded end cap. Some fuel injection hose and a small shop air compressor powered the push of fuel. This is not without peril so please use caution here against fuel leaks and too much pressure out of your compressor. The engine will start and run on far less than the standard 58 PSI at the rail but the engine will be limited on how well it will accelerate. Forty PSI out of your compressor will be plenty for initial starting and a foot or so of pipe will get you ten to fifteen minutes of run time.
As with any initial fuel injection and engine start testing, keep a fire extinguisher handy. Seriously . . . . but this can save you some money.
