Power supply issue
I have a 2003 Silverado that i recently mild built the motor in. When i put the new motor in for the first time i had an issue getting the cluster to come on and the fuel pump to kick on. i figure out if i wiggled the wiring harness above the cylinder #8 injector it fixed everything. i was putting some heat cycles in the motor when i noticed a weird noise coming from the motor. so i pulled the motor again and put it back in. Now i can not getting the cluster to come on or the fuel pump. also the OBD port isn't getting power. the only thing inside that is getting power is the check engine light. it will stay on at all times but gets brighter when i turn the key to the on position. Has anyone had this problem or know what could be in the wiring around that area that could be messed up? i have been replacing fuses and relays and stripping the wiring harness apart and kind find anything.
PS: sorry. I know this is a long shot trying to get a wiring diagnostic through a website but i absolutely suck at pretty much anything electrical and am tired of tracing wires.

no magic bullet, make sure all the grounds are healthy, use a good meter and check from both ends to the surrounding metal. The big firewall connector has been known in the past as the source of much evil..
Especially if break fluid gets on it.. And it was/is really close to under the master cylinder..

Am I correct, in assuming you mean it's on, even when the key is off?
All the power wiring on the starter?
As PDX mentioned, the grounds can be a big issue.
