Having a lean spike issue Alright so I have a 98’ Trans Am with a built LS1 and a 78mm plate kit. It has 243 heads, LS6 intake, longtubes etc.
my problem is I was driving one day at a steady 45-50mph and my wideband read crazy lean and the car bogged for a second and picked back up like it lost fuel. I filled the tank up and same thing so a few days go by and the pump went out it already had a 255 pump so I replaced it with another walbro 255 thinking I’ve fixed the problem. I get on the highway and go to accelerate and it did it again lean spike and fell on its face. It was an intermittent problem until the pump I put in went out also so It got a racetronix pump and hardwire kit, new fuel filter and 43lb injectors, 99 pcm swap and a tune. I go to launch it and it the same problem occurred. I’ve also changed the regulator in the tank. Could the pulse dampener on the rail cause such a problem?
