Converting to DBC, need help.

Converting to DBC, need help. Question is would it be easier to find an 0411 that came off a truck with DBC, than to reprogram some table in the DBW ecu? Just pin in the IAC and TPS into the cable driven ecu. Does that sound right? Or is there a lot more to do on than that?
I have an '01 5.3 out of a Tahoe. It was DBW, but now want to convert to DBC. The ECU that came with it is bricked. HP Tuners will not connect to it anymore. I borrowed two of my friends ecu's and they connect and read just fine. I want to convert because the car it's in is cable driven and will be easier for me to keep it that way. I'm toward the end of the standalone rewire job, and all i have left to do it the DBC wiring.
