Mpg drop

Mpg drop I put a 5.3 in a jeep wrangler 4l65e and a np241 t-case, when i first put it in it was scary to drive and was getting 24mpg now it feels a bit more powerfull then the l6 i took out of it. I realize some of it is i have gotten use to it but something is not right. After power and mpg dropped to 13mpg i brought it to a tunner then that weekend i pulled tent trailer into the mountains and got 18mpg. I am back to 13mpg.
i tried new plugs and wires cleand air filter and mas airflow. i ordered a new set of injectors thinking maybe there were on there way out wont get to install them tell the weekend, my only other thought is maybe the coil packs are weak. Any other ideas where the loss of power and mpg could be?
