Default 'Safe' WHP on corn?

Ok, so I am little slow on the uptake.

Without picking a specific number, does the 'safe' WHP level increase if you switch from 93 octane + M1 meth to corn? Corn + M1 meth?

SBE LS3 with a cam, rocker and spring upgrades, V-2 Ti CSC. 1 7/8ths LT headers, 3" Borla S-Type (no) cat backs.

People keep recommending I switch to corn. If it will increase the 'safe' WHP level I may have to look at it more seriously.

I have been reluctant to go corn because of limited availability. There are, I think, 4 stations in Dayton that have E85 and they are mostly Speedway. I am not familiar with the quality of Speedway gas. I like being able to find a Shell station anywhere and filling up with good 93 octane but a flex fuel system would prevent me from being stranded. Although running out the tank to switch would be a PITA.

I plan to go forged next year and I am working on the supporting mods in advance. Fuel pump (preventative maintenance), fuel rails (Gucci), CSC rebuild/upgrade (preventative maintenance and expansion). The right fuel pump and injectors and a flex fuel sensor are not out of the question.

I'd like to get to 900 WHP or so eventually.

Thanks!

For 900whp go straight E85. The tuning window is very forgiving, better than pump plus WMI.

If you have a flex fuel setup then the whole of it is that you don't have to run one fuel out before filling with the other, The computer reads the ethanol content in the tank and adjusts the tune for it.

Ok, that is good. If you had 10 gallons of straight 93 and added 10 gallons of E85 do you have to go easy on the boost until it gets back to straight E85? Or can the flex fuel adjust the tune, fueling and spark, for mixes as the concentration changes?

I assume you would have less than 100% power until you got back to 100% E85.

I don't know how flex fuel works. Thanks for the responses!

I'm just south. My local E85 station is Thorton's off exit 38 on I75. Flex sensor reads 86% there typically.
