Default Fuel delivery for 450rwhp

What do you guys recommend fuel delivery wise (injectors ad fuel pump), for roughly 450 rwhp?

I'm doing it on a 255lph pump w/ racetronix kit, and maxed out 28.8lb injectors(not suggesting you do that at all)

I have some GTP 36lb injectors going on with the FAST intake.

I also think it kinda depends on the dyno too, DJ, MD or a hub dyno.

I would think that a 255 pump and 36lb injectors(which are 42lbs at 4 bar) would be a safe setup for 450 wheel.

Decap the factory injector. It's free and will flow almost double the rated flow with the reliability of an OEM injector. Look up the procedure on you tube if you aren't familiar with it. If you aren't running E85 a 400lph in tank walbro is a great pump. Quieter than the typical 255/340lph replacements. If you want to keep teh dinky filter/regulator setup adn need a pump that flows less. The Denso supra pump is also really nice and its a turbine style pump (quiet) Flows around 255lph.

Agree, Single walboro 255 in tank pump, 40 ish lb injectors. Stock LS3 type are 41lb iirc or as above decap stockers is cheap and works. C5 Corvette fuel filter with reg built in

A std 255 will handle that easily, and some nice 42lb injectors as the rest have said are the best bet and easy to get. A 255 will handle e85 also... no need to jump into a 400+ lph pump if not necessary.


Make sure to get a hotwire harness also!

As people have said the racetronix 255 and 36lb/hr injectors will do. I have that very setup at 450rwhp.

The walbro255 and racetronix pumps are the georotor design and generally loud by nature. It's why I prefer the turbine style denso supra pump for a 255 lph. They also flow more at higher higher pressures... So if you wanted to extend an injectors flow rating and set your base at 58-65psi, the denso flows more at that elevated pressure.

You need to specify make, model, and year. If you have an fbody the 1998 fuel pump assembly is entirely different than the 99-2002 fbody model years.

For example:

On the 1998 the form factor of the stock pump is larger than some replacement pumps such as the Racetronix pump that is included in their fuel pump kit for the 98. So dependent upon which pump you get will determine if it will fit securely in the 1998 stock pump plastic mountings for the pump. The 1998 Racetronix fuel pump kit includes new brackets for their pump which is smaller in diameter than the stock 98 pump.

IMO I would get a complete fuel pump kit specific for either of the two versions for each fuel pump model year, rather than just a single pump.

For the 1999-2002 model fbody, IMO make sure to replace the bulkhead connector plug on the fuel pump assembly hat with the upgraded version. It handles more amps than the original connector.
