Default 42lb injectors

Need to increase injector size. For those who have 42lb injectors, which ones did you get and why? I've heard that some injectors are harder to tune than others due to unknown specs iirc.

Thanks in advance.

I ran the FAST 36 lb injectors with no issues on the HCI LS1 setup. They are right around 42 lbs at 58 psi. Here's a reference from another thread on these:

On stock fuel pressure, the 36lb injectors are actually 41lbers...

This is actually my scaling IFR table out of HP Tuners for these injectors...

Injector Flow Rate vs. KPA VAC

40.11751 40.36553 40.61355 40.86158 41.10960 41.35762 41.60564 41.85366 42.03968 42.28770 42.53572 42.78374 43.03177 43.21778 43.46580 43.71383 43.96185

put it this way.....

On a 100 wet shot, on a stock fuel pump with these injectors I am only at 70% injector duty cycle at 520rwhp....im 412rwhp N/A and the Injector duty is 61%...you are fine.

Nice and yes injector flow rate numbers was what I was referring to. Some injectors have no values and makes them harder to tune. Thanks!

Decap the stock injectors. Teh big stockers flow 70+lbs. Basically over twice their rating when decapped. If you do buy injectors there's zero reason not to go with 80lb or even larger. You don't need it now, but you may in the future. Also resale is much better with a larger injector. Smaller injectors cost the same or more. Deka 80's are pretty much the standard upgrade from stock.

Pretty much 100 extra over the fast 36lbers

Again why in the world would you buy a 36lb injector if you have factory injectors? (maybe you don't, just can't wrap my head around people buying an injector that will flow less than a de-capped factory unit)

Yes I'm looking around, I do have factory injectors but don't have a cutting wheel myself to remove the weld. Found this site that sells them decapped and flow tested. Decapped Fuel Injectors 84LB High Flow Denso Flex GM Chevy GMC Truck L (precisionautoinjectors.com)

A $20-30 Dremel or harbor freight mini grinder would do it easy. It doesn't take much... Having a flowed set is always nice, but if they are installed and running, you pretty much know they are good. $250 seems like a lot IMO. Might as well go with 80's at that point. FWIW it usually costs 80-100 to have a set cleaned and flowed.
