Default 2001 Corvette LS1 with long crank

car is bone stock except for cat back.

Long crank ONLY occurs when the gas tank is quarter or less and the car is cold. If the car is warm it starts fine. If the tank is more than quarter and cold or warm it starts fine.

No codes. Easy stuff replaced ie plugs, wires, fuel pump, fuel filter/regulator, MAF, no vacuum leaks, etc. same issue

any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Depending on how cold....you might look into a block heater. How long is a long crank? Twice as long? 10 times?

Sorry, I meant cold start as in just a morning start with outside/coolant tempt at 65F. Long crank as in about 8-12 times longer. Just filled the tank yesterday. Starts perfect now. When it was an 8th of a tank it cranked long. I’m guessing fuel pressure is bleeding off. Just don’t know where to look.

I doubt its bleeding off as you crank it, long as the pump is staying on. Might look at the ground and power connections. Make sure the pump is working as you crank it and the injectors are firing.

sorry. I meant bleeding off overnight ie the cold crank. How do you think ground and power would associated with fuel tank level? But, yes, those all look good. Brand new oe pump primes and no signs of failure.

how would I test If an injector is bad? (But again I don’t see how an injector would fail just overnight and be fine the rest of the time)

I was thinking more along the lines of high current draw and potentially corroded electrical connections dropping voltage at the injectors and/or pump and preventing enough fuel from getting in when its needed. Injectors need a lot of power during a cold start and if voltage drops because of a poor ground or 12v connection as the fuel line is being filled by the pump, they might not open enough. Can't say I have a magic solution, but that's what immediately comes to mind.

ok. Thanks. Appreciate the help. So you think the power is ok when the tank is full but drops when the tank is at quarter or less? Does the fuel level affect grounds and power?

thanks for the input. But the fuel pressure regulator is in the rear wheel well on these cars and I already replaced it. No change.

I had this issue on one of my vehicles below 1/2 tank. When I Finally pulled the pump the corrugated supply line had a pin hole and was wizzing fuel out.
the issue occurred before and after 2 separate fuel regulator installs. And we already installed a new oe pump. All lines look perfect.
