Default Need some direction.

I have an 02 Camaro ss, I知 doing h/c/I and headers upgrade and I ended up purchasing a set of 42lbs injectors. I bought a new stock fuel pump, will I need to remove and upgrade the fuel pump or can the stock handle it?

Chances are pretty good that you'll run out of fuel with the stock pump. My fuel pressure was starting to dip at high RPM when my car was cam only, when I did the heads and intake I ended up just doing the fuel pump at the same time.

That's the same kit I had installed with 42lb injectors and was good up to 500 rwhp.

Engine mods as time were h/c, headers, etc. along with a D1 Procharger making about 6-8lbs of boost.

Later I replaced the 42 lbs with 60 lb Mototron injectors and made a pulley change upping boost about 1-2 lbs. The single Racetronix fuel pump with hot wire harness handled 565 rwhp and was still at about 80 percent duty cycle. Boost BTW requires more fuel and pressure than NA.

So with your current mods the Racetronix kit IMO is the best solution and will be good to at least 500 rwhp.

Tip: if you stay NA then IMO since the stock fuel pressure intank regulator ss now about 20 years old, I would remove it and replace with an external C5 Wix combination fuel filter/fuel pressure regulator.

If you replace the stock harness, make sure to replace the 99-2002 upgraded bulkhead connector that should be included with the hot wire kit . It can handle up to 30 amps compared to the stock connector which is much less and is prone to failure when running larger pumps that require more amps.
