Need some advice on pump/injectors
I'm looking for a little advice. I've been reading and reading and it seems like every tech article I read is just trying to sell me something. So I was hoping for some advice from people who have actually done something similar to what I want to do.
So this is the car:
84 Corvette with LQ9, ported 799 heads (10.9:1 compression) Summit stage 2 cam. FAST LSXR 102mm intake. All controlled with a Holley Terminator X Max. I want to try using E85. I also want to spray a progressive dry shot of nitrous. I'm thinking the motor should make 500 hp at the crank NA and I would like to hit it with a 150 -200 shot. The end goal is 700 crank horse power The rings are gaped for nitrous.
My idea on a fuel system was to run a Walbro in tank 470 lph with -8an feed and -6an return, a A1000 Aeromotive regulator and Siemans Deka 60 or 80 injectors.
My question is am I in the ballpark? Could I get away with the Deka 60's or will I need the 80's. The only reason I ask is it's a street car. I had read that some people have issues with idling in traffic with the 80's. Does everything else on my list seem reasonable? Is the -8an feed line overkill?
80s lb injectors at 43 psi will get you there. I used them to 800 wheel hp on e 85 before I changed. -8 feed would be my minimum from fp to rail. Not sure about your FP, but if it was me I would go larger. A1000 fp would be close to maxed out on your 200 shot dry e85. Should need approx 160 lbs per hour enrichment on 200 at 11.8 afr. Make sure your 150 is perfect before going to 200. If you using a plate kit on the lsxr manifold it will have distribution issues at 200. I had to tune per cylinder at 200 and above.
