Default Looking for a fuel system for my boosted '98 Formula

Been out of the F body game about 10 years, who is the go-to guy nowadays for fuel stuff? Would like the bucket setup w/dual pumps ready to drop in and the harness to go with it. Would like the capacity for 1000+. What are y'all using?

Racetronix, Lonnie's Performance, Squash Performance and even Aeromotive has pumps for drop in the tank systems.

You don't mention the year of your car. There are two Racetronix kits for dual pumps for the fbody. The 98 kit and the 99-2002 kit.

Not sure because I got my kit a couple of years ago but the kit for the 98 back then was not advertised. The primary reason is because the harness has to be changed in order to use the yellow bulkhead connector unique for the 98. The bulkhead connector for the 99-2002 is not an issue because it has been upgraded to handle up to 30 amps necessary for larger than stock pumps which draw a lot of amps compared to the single stock pump.

I have the Racetronix dual 510LPH kit. According to Racetronix it supports up 1000 HP. Not sure if that is for just 91 and/or E85.

I had to modify the metal hanger in order to mount the dual pumps for a 98. With the Racetronix 99-2002 kit it doesn't appear you have to make any modification to the kit. Am pretty sure you will need to upgrade the fuel feed line if you plan to use e85 and support up to 1000. Check with tech at Racetronix.

If you have a 98 - you might contact Lonnies to see if he modifies the kit for the 98 the same as Racetronix (wire harness and metal intank hanger).

Some will disagree and suggest just a BA single pump. If you use a single with the 98 you will have to modify the harness in order to power the pump and not fry the yellow bulkhead connector. The yellow connector only supports up to 14 amps. You can pretty much run 95 percent of the time on the primary pump 225 lph with dual pumps. With a single 450 you will recycle twice as much the gas unnecessarily and just heat of the gas. If you use just a single pump it will overpower the stock fuel pressure regulator. The stock fuel pressure regulator can handle 58-60 psi static fuel pressure Most report a jump up to 70 psi with a single 450 or larger.

Check with Racetronix tech if you opt for 340 pumps for a 98. Their amp draw is 14 amps - the maximum for the yellow 98 bulkhead connector.

I would check first with Squash tech asking if their kit contains the ability to continue to use the stock fuel pump sender so your gas gauge continues to work. The Racetronix kits maintain the existing fuel tank gas gauge sender.

Pics below show the modification necessary to mount dual pumps on the metal 98 hanger. Primary reason for the modification was to allow room for the fuel filters that mount on the bottom of the pumps and also be able to mount the fuel filters and bottom of pumps aft of the metal baffle rear side of the metal 98 fuel tank.
