Default Fuel Tank in Direct Sunlight?

Hey Fellas, i bought a black fuel cell for my project truck, i am going to throw it in the box of the truck and use a sump to gravity feed to a inline fuel pump. However i have some concerns. First off is the tank is going to be exposed to direct sunlight, it will be vented of course but i am not sure if its going to be a problem, Second is the tank isn't baffled. being a sump feed, will this be a problem? I am wondering if you fellers have any thoughts on it.

You better keep plenty of fuel in it if you plan to do anything other than straight line acceleration. A non baffled fuel cell is gonna slosh everywhere. Usually the sump is toward the back, so no problem drag racing, but turn a corner and oops.

Get some Motoflect for the cell to protect it from the sun/heat and orientate the cell like Gametech stated. If you can add baffles, that would be best, or add a surge tank to draw fuel from.

Great points, i definitely don't want to have a small tank but running out of fuel under boost would probably be way more costly.

Thank you for the ideas, I will look into motoflect or similar product, no way i can add baffles to the plastic tank unfortunately. I will definitely have to research some solutions the surge tank sounds like a hell of a plan

You can add baffle material, They have foam/sponge type that you push down inside the cell, I used it when I raced circle track, It works great.

Thank you! i just bought a metric fktonne for my new tank... now my problem is my fuel sending unit isn't gonna work. So i guess im buying a custom made floatless fuel sender from Tanks Inc. Worth it, 200$ for the tank, 150$ for the sender and another 100$ in Foam. that makes for a 450$ complete tank and i get the capacity i wanted, or 97% of it at least.
