I know the door access has been covered many times. I have cut mine already from advice on here.
However, I am curious if anyone has installed a hinged access door? I have found a few online for dirt track cars and even an abs marine version. I am thinking of installing one similar to the picture attached, while I have my fuel tank installed.
Has anyone done this already? Just curious how it turned out. Or if I need to take installation pictures while I do mine.

Why not just use a piece of sheet metal and some rivnuts and bolt it down?? I just did it on my 3rd gen and it works just fine. Once the carpet goes back in nobody but me will know

Seriously, that's similar to what I have now. Except I cut 3 sides and just pull it up and reseal it with HVAC tape.
This way, I'm contemplating undersizing the template cut to allow a gasket to seal the door back airtight.
