Return and return less fuel lines

Return and return less fuel lines Hello,
i put a 2001 silverado 4.8 vortec engine in my 65 Acadian, it had 2 fuel lines coming from the tank up to the fuel rail, i installed a new fuel tank with an intank pump and an FPR in the line about 12 inches from the tank, i have 1 line running from the FPR to the fuel rail,
i then welded the the end of the steel part of the return line, my question is, is that going to work or do i have to replace the fuel rail with a 2004 return less ???
if so do i replace both rails or just the left one.
