Fuel Pump and filter upgrade So this is my situation. I have a 99 Silverado, 5.3, Ported 862's, 218/227 .525 lift Hot Cam, LT's with 3" xpipe (no cats), and 50# flex fuel injectors. I have been tuning and found that I don't have enough fuel past 3600 rpm. I am looking for advice on a pump/ filter upgrade that will use the factory return style system, or advice on what I need to do to free up the fuel system to fix my problem. Thanks in Advance for any help.
You should have enough fuel if the fuel pump is healthy. I run my Yukon on E85, it has a mild cam, tbss intake, headers, 52lb gm flex injectors, and has plenty of fuel on E85(base line 239whp, 322whp post mods). My fuel pump was replaced 10-12yrs ago with an OEM replacement. That being said, a drop in 340 with a should be plenty if the pump needs replaced. Quantum fuel makes a drop in assembly with an upgraded 40amp relay.
