Default D1SC LS2 with LT1 style fuel system

Hi everybody. I tried to search this several times but I wasn't able to find the answer to my particular situation. I have a 97 trans am that has a ls2 swap in it. I am currently running a c5 filter regulator and a racetronix 255 kit with the hotwire harness(lt1 kit). I am looking to add a d1sc and some 60# injectors this spring/summer and would like to achieve around 550-600whp on pump gas. I am concerned that my current fuel system won't be up to the task. Looking at my options it looks like changing to a 340lph pump would be the easiest way forward. Minor changes to accommodate the fuel pumps amperage draw are required but aren't overly concerning. My question is whether I can make use of the factory 5/16 return line or if it will become too restrictive and make regulating pressure difficult or damaging to the pump. Plan is to run 3/8 feed to a boost referenced fpr and then return to the tank with 5/16. It seems like a few 1998 guys have done similar with the regulator mounted at the "T" where the factory return is. Does anybody have any first hand experience or expertise with a setup like mine? This is a crude drawing that hopefully gets the idea across clearly. I know there are nice dual pump kits out there with bigger feed and return lines, but I am hoping to avoid unnecessary cost or complexity putting this thing together if I can get away with a simple pump swap and some wiring. Thanks ahead of time.

I did a swap on my 96 using a 340 but used a 99-02 tank. I could see an LT bucket making it a little more difficult on the wiring side. Do yourself a favor and get rid of the factory lines altogether. Using all of those adapters just adds additional leak points and is not cost effective when all is said and done. A basic Aeromotive regulator is mounted to my shock tower, the factory routing was used, and I kept the stock filter in place.

-6 Line is all you will need at those power levels and both can be used for pressure and return. My system is plumbed with Fragola Real Street PTFE using their EFI a quick connect hose ends where possible. I only have three EFI adapters and two 90s on the entire system. Your drawing is spot on just remember to keep it simple.

Move the regulator to after the rails not before. get a fitting to put on the end of the rails so the return can come off the end and then to the regulator.
