I have a 62 Corvette restomod with a gen 3 5.3 LS engine. The engine has a sheet metal low profile intake and aftermarket fuel rails. I've installed a new Tanks gas tank with a 255 Walbro intank fuel pump. I also installed a GM C5 combination fuel regulator/ filter / return line right next to the fuel tank.I also installed a liquid fuel pressure gauge at the end of the passenger fuel rail. My problem is once I start the newly rebuilt engine the fuel pressure go right to 80psi instead of 58psi at idle.
I have replaced the fuel pump/fuel regulator and liquid fuel pressure gauge with new components and still have 80psi at idle. I have used this combo on 3 other LS restomods I have built and the fuel system worked perfectly wih 58
psi at idle.
Anyone got any suggestions as to what is causing this high fuel pressure issue? Please advise and thanks in advance for your input!!!
Is your FFR a Wix or real AC Delco? Lots of off shore junk out there.
Or no intent to be a smart aleck but could you have the input and return hooked up backwards?
