Help no start! Hello everyone! Here's the story. I put a ls1 into a kit car. the ls1 and auto trans is out of a 99 TA and all the wiring, coluum, and cluster is out of a 99 camaro. I have fuel pressure and 1 code which is emission pres sensor too low. It won't click or nothing. The pressure switch is in the tank (right). On the wiring diagram it shows a resistor. Can I bypass this resistor or do I need to put a resistor in line? Any other info will help. I'v been working on cars all my life, been ASE certified, and have built other cars, trucks. It sounds like your talking about the vats system or vehicle anti theft system. You need to know the "resistance" for the vats that you have. I think you can ohm the key, but I never tried that. Otherwise you can bypass the whole system.

The resistance must be the value that the VATs or BCM is looking for. If you have the VIN number off of the vechicle you took the VATS or BCM off of, a GM dealer can tell you the code to the resistance. I think there is like 15 resistance values, and you can search the net for the equivalent ohm resistance for the GM VATs.
If you don't know the VIN number, you can usually find a VATs box at a junkyard still in the car where you can get the VIN. I think I paid $10 for the last one I bought. PM me and I'll send you a picture of what one looks like.
Alternatly, you can use a bypass module from Baker Electronics to generate the 55HZ (?) signal your PCM is looking for to energize the fuel rail. They cost about $25
