Fuel pump issue?
Been experiencing some hard start situation random occasions. Finally have a gauge on the rail and situation occurring. First turn of key no start gauge reads 40 psi second turn 58 psi and starts what do you think
Died at light on way home tonight fired right back up made it home 10 miles. Runs fine when not doing this… no codes

anyone have an idea? Guess Im changing pump tomorrow. Anyone know if the cutting an access hole in a 2001 Z28 convertible works without problems? There is probably less room to remove pump in convertible. Hope it works
Replaced pump last weekend and I seem to have same situation. Random cranking no start at first turn of key (sometimes). Most of the time it starts right up. Fuel pressure is bleeding down fairly fast even with new pump. First turn of key no start gauge reads 40 psi, second turn 58 psi and it will start.
If I just turn key on and dont start engine I hear the clink of relay, sound of pump running, the gauge goes up to 58 psi then a second click of what sounds like a relay and then pressure drops to 48 psi. Leave key on and dont try starting pressure in 3 minutes drops to 45 psi, 5 minutes drops to 40 psi. Turn off key turn again primes to 58 psi second click drops to 48 psi. Start engine and maybe my imagination exhaust smells rich or unburned fuel. Maybe injector leaking?
