Old Gas Cleaning
I've been told to jump the fuel pump relay and let it pump all the old gas out and replace the filter afterwards, then fill the tank with fresh gas and some Redline fuel system cleaner. Anything wrong with this method?
I am in Alaska; Two or THREE YEAR old gasoline is NO problem.
We have NO ethanol in our fuel, and highest peak summer temps here on the coast are middle 60's Fahrenheit.
Frequently salvage old backyard relics, havent been run in a decade or more: Hot battery, add two gallons of fresh pump gasoline, two seconds of ETHER in the throttle body, and they'll typically be running and idling on whatever mix of 5,6,7 year old fuel is in the tank.
If you park a load of "Gas-O-Hol" in Florida two years-- You'll probably want to drop the tank, and replace the fuel pump.
