C5 fuel pump---it is a Walbro
C5 fuel pump---it is a Walbro My buddy brought home a C5 pump assembly that had a bad fuel gauge sending unit. For giggles and grins, I took the plastic housing off. I was in search for the mysterious in tank pressure regulator. Needless to say, all I noted is a return line that must be part of the twin tank system that had a spring and check valve as it came back into the tank. I can blow on it and cause it to trigger. ????
Anyway, the actual electric pump is a Walbro. It says that right on the side. It is much heavier than a standard in tank pump.
It has two pick up points. One on the bottom that is heavily filtered and one inside the plastic tube where the pump is mounted. It is my understanding that this keeps the pump able to pick up fuel even on hard corners, etc. as that plastic housing stays wet. It is not nearly as well filtered though which I think is strange.
Anywho...just thought I would share.
BTW--I am thinking of slipping that pump in my 96 Caprice tank which I am fitting into the 69 Camaro at this time.
