what is this part? there is a block box next to the intake that says dephi on it and has a fuel line going into it. what is this? is it supposed to be making a tapping sound? i can hear it and put my finger on it and feel the tapping distinctly. thanks -ANdy
What car and year is this?
It sounds like it might be the purge solenoid. On my v8 98 fbody it's a cylinder with a "fuel line" going to one end, and a line going out of the other end and into the side of the intake. That fuel line also has a test port on it, with a 1psi max warning label.

im sorry its a 98 z28. there is a line coming out the other side going into the intake right after the throttle body. it is a hard line i believe. it has been making the tapping sound on and off and its loud enough to hear inside the car.
