should fuel pressure stay the same

should my fuel pressure stay at 58-60 psi from idle all the way through the rpm band also when at idle should it stay the same when it revs up? the problem i am having when at idle it reads at 58-60 psi but when i rev it up it drops down to 40psi i dont know what it is doing while driving because i havnt driven it with it doing this cause i dont want to mess anything up thanks for any help also i have a 2001 ls1 engine in a 93 chevy pickup truck with a 255lph fuel pump inline no intank pump

Shouldn't drop below 52ish...somethings not right..did you install a return line? Regulator?

mine drops to 52 psi in WOT when spraying the 150 wet shot, but it bounces back to 60 psi.

i have a areomotive fuel reg and a return line. do you think my fuel pump is giving in it is a nos inline fuel pump

Your pumps aren't keeping up.
Whether it's dropping to 52psi or 40psi, you don't have enough flow.

40psi is motor popping bad tho.

That pump is plenty big to feed your engine. I suspect that when you are accelerating your pickup is getting uncovered and your pressure is dropping.

I have a full tank of gas this is also at idle when i rev it up.

I just had the same problem. Turned out that the intank feed hose had a split in it. Have you ever pulled the intank pump?

yes i pulled the intank pump out and replaced with a good size fuel hose. that tank is full so i guess my pump is going out it is whining really loud now.
