Default Stock Fuel Pressure

Hey,
I think i have a fuel pump going out, but would like to know how to check it first. What is the stock fuel press and how do i test the pump and FPR? Any help would be great. Oh, i have a 97 T/A M6. I need to know ASAP. Thanks again. Freddie

should be around 59-60 PSI with a drop of 4 to 6 PSI at WOT. You can hook up the pressure gauge to the fuel rail.

I'm pretty sure that stock LT1 fp is around 43-46 psi, ls1 is 58-60 psi.

Later,
Dave

44psi too low or is that "within a safe range" ?

about 45 psi at idle is normal with the vacuum line off. when you put the line back on the pressure will drop. at WOT you want the pump to be able to support the pressure you saw at idle with the vacuum line off. if you notice it slowly dropping or never getting to the at idle, line off reading, some thing is wrong on the supply side. if it is unusually low (39 or less) at idle with the vacuum line off, i'd say there was a problem with the regulator itself. basically, the fuel pressure should be higher at WOT than at idle for an LT1.
