Arrow Fuel sump problems please help!

Ok so my car started acting like it wasnt getting enough fuel so i take it to my mechanic who tells me that i need to buy a new fuel sump. Ok well he also told me he by-passed the sump and it ran at 80psi, he said it ran like a top but i dont know if 80psi is to much for my car? I have all mods in sig and a stock fuel setup for now. I was wondering if there is anyway i can by-pass the sump and get a fuel pressure regulator to turn down the fuel pressure. If not does anyone have a fuel sump for sale and a fuel pressure regulator.

58psi is optimal.

Not sure what you are talking about that he bypassed the sump???? You sure you got the terms right?

I think he means that the mechanic bypassed the sender/regulator assembly using a fuel pressure tester and the pump maxed out at 80psi.

I would think that you have a regulator problem.

Its not the regulator its either the sender or the fuel sump.

The sender is only the part that feeds the fuel gauge.
Is the sump clogged or something?

I have no idea if its clogged or not, the guy i took it to just told me i need another sump, but i dont guess i konw what he was talking about when he said he by-passed it and it set at 80psi. I know if it was at 80psi i bet i could get a fuel pressure regulator and turn it down right?

You dont want to have two regs on a stock fuel system. The f body has a reg in the tank. as for the sump, I have cut open a f body tank and the only sump is a small plastic container that the pump lays in their was a metal baffel to help guide the gas to the plastic container. it is not likely that the sump could go bad on the f body tank. you probaly need a reg. to replace the one inside the tank. Look for the sending unit on e bay it will come with a reg. I am not thinking you can buy a reg frrom GM.
