Default Somebody Explain to me the fuel return

I have a lsx manifold and the fast fuel rails. I already had the plumbing designed until I was told I need a fuel pressure regulator and a return line. I have a 2001 SS Camaro. The way the system was going to be plumbed was to have coming off of the stock fuel line a -6 adaptor to a -6 line feeding up to the front of the drivers side fuel rail. The back of the drivers side fuel rail has -8 crossover to the passenger side fuel rail coming up to the front where a fuel pressure guage is.

On the stock system there is a hose coming off of the manifold just behind the throttle body running to the evap solenoid which has a line coming off to another line running down beside the fuel line. What is this line.

So the question is, do I need an external fuel pressure regulator and do I need a return line? And if I do, how?

On the stock fuel system the return is in the back by the fuel pump. Do you need a regulator and a return? well thats up to you, if you want to be able to adjust the fuel pressure than you need a regulator, with the regulator you need a return. If you are just putting on the rails you dont need the regulator and return.

but remember with a front mount regulator it can maintain better pressure then in the back.

So what is that line that runs alongside the feed supply fuel line. It runs from the evap solenoid

It's a vapor line...no fuel runs through it.

Okay, I've been doing some research on this return line and here is a post form Mightymouse that I found

"you guys all have a return line and a regulator mounted on the end of it. it splits off the pressure line right after the filter.

if you want to modify to run a full return with stock regulator all you have to do is unhook the stock return from the T fitting under the car.. block off the hole in the T, and run some fuel line from the end of the rail back to the tube you just disconnected.

having a return line isnt the problem.. its acess and quality of the regulator."

So today I got under the car and found this t-fitting. Still I don't understand it. The fuel line runs from the fuel rails to the fuel filter. Coming off of the fuel filter a line 90 degrees to this t-fitting. Straight across on this t-fitting another line comes off and goes to the fuel tank. This is the feed linee. Now that leaves one more end off of that t-fitting. It looks to me like the evap line runs to this end of the fitting. How the heck does this work. I thought the evap line pulled excess vapors from the tank to reburn them. So, how can this be used as a return line. It would be nice if that were the case. But I just don't understand how any of those off that t can be used as a return line. Can anybody explain this any better?
