Injector Question
i was curious if anyone knew what the stock specs of an LS-1 Fuel injector were. i only ask because i am think that i will have to update them pretty soon since i heard that they can only take up to 450 HP. i am already at 351 at the wheels without the bottle and i am about to do A LOT more work in the next couple of weeks. any suggestions on what i should go to? thanks
Formula:
(BHP x BSFC)/ (#inj x duty cycle)= size injector
Exemple:
BHP= 500
BSFC= .50 (for NA motors)
# inj= 8
duty cycle = 80% or .80
so
(500x.50)/ (8x .80)= 250/6.40 = 39.06 lbs/hr
So 40 pounds injectors should be fine
Hope this helps
One advice though, do not rely on just pump and injector size, keeping steady fuel pressure is very critical to efficiency of injectors so I recommend an adjustable fuel pressure regulator at rail to avoid over injecting motors.
