methanol injection

I am getting ready to put andy's vortech kit on my z06. (stock bottom end) I was told that methanol injection would make the blower a little safer. I was going to run 5-6psi. I was told that I could now run more boost(7-8psi) safely. I was also told that with the methanol I would make more power with it than without it. I have never used it before so I am trying to see how much truth there are to the previous statements. Please advise me to weather or not this is even a good idea.

The methanol will help keep your IAT's low which will help keep knock down which will let you run more timing which leads to more power.

The meth allows me to raise my timing to 21 from 16 at WOT. It is comparable to running race fuel (100 octane). If I stay with the 21 degree table I either have the meth on (with 93 octane) or run race gas with the meth off. I guess I could also try race gas + meth but I haven't played with that yet.

Yo Nasty--Ive been running my kit for a few weeks now with the magnuson--I definately reccomend it--Check out the turbo buick forum Alky injection section there is a guy Razor that will help you out alot.

Cool, thanks for the reply. Did you up the boost and put the kit on at the same time or did you just put it on? If you just put it on does the car feel stronger?
