fuel t-fitting

Do i need to use this T-fitting thats mounted right by the fuel filter? cant i just take one feed line through the filter and onto the rail? then is the other fuel line coming from the tank just the evap line?

this is on a 2000 camaro LS1

No doubt someone else (more knowledgeable) will comment, but I think the line that "t"'s off and heads back into the tank is for the in tank fuel pressure regulator, so I'd think you need it.

you need it......you have the feed line into the fuel filter....then after the filter at the T one line runs to the fuel pres regulator and one up to the fuel rail.The purge line is the seperate smaller line running forward.
