Default Fuel Logs

Are there any benifits of using a "Fuel Log" instead of the traditional steel braided lines? I heard somewhere that a log can hold in heat & transfer it to the fuel. Another theory was that the G-forces upon acceleration can act more severely on the large volume of fuel in the log and "stall" fuel delivery. Anyone have good/bad results using a ful log? I'm designing a fuel system for a 500+ cid motor and wanted to weigh my options.

Thanks in advance guys!
