Electric fuel pump?
Electric fuel pump? Hey guys, just wanted to get your thoughts on electric fuel pumps? I'm looking at getting a new, larger fuel pump and was kind of looking at a few electric fuel pumps too but didn't know the disadvantages of getting one over a standard mechanical one?
If you're upgrading a 98 ws6 you don't have a choice. They use an electrical fuel pump. Call Harris Speed Works, Thunder, Nate, or any other sponsor listed to the right for info on a Racetronix fuel pump.
Yea, I've been looking at the Racetronics kits, I've heard good about them. I just want to upgrade because I'm getting ready to do some more stuff on it and I just don't trust the stock pump. The one in my '95 went out at 60,000 miles with only bolt-on's and I'm pushing a lot more power than I was with my old car and with even more modding coming I just want to upgrade it before it goes out on me somewhere and I get stranded. I haven't had any problems with it but I don't trust it to 500-600hp.
Inline with the stock pump is only a patch you can not pull any more fuel through the intank pump than it can supply. You are only going to help keep the pressure up not gain any extra volume. Only way to use an inline is with a sumped tank.
