Default fuel rail covers install

i just bought a new pair of rail covers for my formula but they came from a corvette... they are the red colored ones..... but some of the guys are telling me im going to have to custom cut to fit them on my motor, 99 ls1.... if true what would be the esiest way to install and is there any way to get them in there without cutting anything... thanx

Yes, you're going to have to do a little cutting... don't cut too much though! All those pics you see out there where half the cover is missing is disgusting. The passenger side doesn't need any cuts, except to fit the throttle cable bracket (about .5" back from edge and maybe 1.5" high) and a hole for your oil dipstick... unless you bend the dipstick to the left. The driver's side needs the most work... unless you moved your air crap for emissions, you'll have to cut a litte bit for the hose that juts out (for emissions, which leads to header). Also a good chunk for that large, round plastic piece, from where the three hoses are coming out of (two hoses to headers, one from air-pump). I cut mine such that if I ever remove the driver's side cover, I'll have to disconnect the emissions thing from the header too. It looks like a large oval and also left the cover much sturdier (my first set sucked *** and looked like *** too). Finally, also on the driver's side cover, unless you changed around your fuel return line, you're going to have to cut an extra hole for it. I just made it exactly like the other one that's already there. My 2nd time around, I cut my covers almost exactly like the ones here...

but hey, the more you cut off, the easier it is to install!!!
