Default Running rich/lean on fuel?

i had my 408 installed and computer sent away 3 times to pcmforless because my car would not idle for it to stay on you had to give it gas right away. finally they got it to idle on the 3rd time but still it bogs and very often it turns off in reverse. SES light is also on? im thinking im still running to rich any suggestions?

When I read your symptoms my first thought was lean.
Are you running a MAF? and is there any chance of air getting in bypassing the MAF?
I'd plug ALL vacuum lines to be sure.

Wait a minute.
So you're running SD mode without a MAF in the system correct?

SD = speed density mode (as in no MAF at all).

I didn't ask if you had a NEW MAF.
This is getting confusing real quick. I wonder if PCMforless got this confused.

Anyway, if air goes into the engine without being metered through the MAF, then you will have problems like you describe.
This is a physical configuration error (vacuum leak) that has nothing to do with the tune.
Check everything between the MAF and the engine for air leaks.
Sometimes the coupling between the MAF and throttle body isn't sealed, or you forget to hook up a PCV line, brake booster line, or other vacuum hose.

Yes they all come with MAFs.
Some people delete them for a SD tune, but it's not that common to do.

A vacuum leak isn't a MAF problem, and it is unlikely that you have a MAF problem. If you suspect it for some reason, then swap it with someone who has the same vehicle as you for a few minutes to see if there is any change.
I doubt you have a MAF problem.

everything is sealed tight...would it help to know that i do not have thi s problem when the car starts cold (when its below 40 degrees outside). but if it runs for a little bit even just in idle and i turn it off followed by a startup same thing happens. also i noticed when its warmer out or if the car has been running for some time my voltage is low even with electronics off its stays around 12. could this be an alternator related problem because the battery is only a couple months old?
