Race fuel and the tune!!

Race fuel and the tune!! My car is 95% street car and will be tuned on 93 octane. My friend and I can get a decent deal on 100 octane and would split the cost. I was curious if the car is tuned on 93, will it even recognize that I have 100 mixed in the tank on the days that I can get it? I like the safety factor of having 100 in the tank, but not if the car doesn't know it. Sure it would have to prevent detonation though anyway? I'm a fuel newbie, so forgive me! 
You will make less power, but the tune will be more conservative with the higher octane, and yes it will keep down detonation for you.
Don't be fooled into thinking that the higher octane will make you more power unless you're running forced induction.
