Default Fuel pressure regulator

Hello, I am putting an ls1 fuel rail on my motor which is an lq4 and going into a hot rod application.... not important. My painless harness manual says that the ls1 cars DO NOT have fuel pressure regulators. I thought that they did, which is in the form of the disk between the crossover for the fuel rail and the return line. The only big round 1 inch cyclinder which is flat. If anybody knows that this is not a fuel pressure regulator, please let me know. You reserve the right to call me an idiot if it is not. Thank you very much.

the fuel pressure regulator for ls1's is actually in the fuel bucket in the gas tank.

the round cylinder you refer to is the acumulator.it is there to help make the injectors live longer.as the injectors open and close there is a hydraulic shock load in the fuel rail as the fuel moves and stops.that acumulator allows that energy to be soaked up.the regulator is in the tank, part of the pump assembly, its a silly little thing!
