Question Question about fuel lines?

Is it safe to remove the foil tape from the fuel lines pictured below? I've seen some cars with it and some without. It looks like crap and I would like to do something with it. Thanks in advance.

I removed it from my car, but soon after I removed the entire oem fuel setup so i dont know if there are any long term heat problems with the line being right there.

I do it all the time with our fuel rails without any issues.

Sorry to bring this back from the dead, but if I removed the tape, is there anything I could place over the lines that would still protect them? I just want something that somewhat matches but still protects. Or is it really not needed?
