Default 99 & up tank in a 98 ?

Can you replace the metal tank in the 98 with a plastic one from 99 & up?
If you can, will you need to replace the fuel pump ? Or can you use the 98 fuel pump in a 99 & up tank ?

I know that the fuel pump assy. is different between the 98 and the 99 the 99 will not work in the 98. As far as the tank goes i'm not sure if it will work but i would assume that if you had the whole tank assy. with the F/P and lines that it would work.

The amount of labor involved for the swap is pretty crazy. You're better off just finding 18 lbs somewhere else.
