Question concerning fuel pump power(long)
Background: I was at the track and when I launched, the car fell on its face. I continued to pedal through and eventually lost fuel to the engine. (The engine quietly died..all light in the dash remained on as though I failed to start the car.)
The Battery was fully charged and still running strong.
I had 3/4 tank of gas.
After it fell dead, I tried to restart it on the return road. No luck as it just kept cranking and cranking.
I could not hear the fuel pump kick on so I automatically assumed It was toast at 80K miles.
I purchased a walbro 255 intake pump and installed it.
When you turn the key on, I get brief power to the pump (2 secs) then that's it.
I have checked the fuses and the relay under the hood.
If I bypass the fuel pump relay under the hood, you can hear the fuel pump kicking on and staying on. (If I try to crank the car, it will just keep cranking. It will not fire up.)
So, this leaves me to the question, If I have fuel and yes my ignition is sending spark, what else could it be? I've double checked my ground leads and everything seems to be intact.
I have LS1edit and VATS is disabled!

If it definately has spark get a fuel pressure gauge and make sure you are getting decent fuel pressure. If it has pressure and spark it could be a lot of things from internal engine problems to blown injector fuses..
