Default Z06 Fuel pump

hey all... i have a 2002 Z06 and im wondering what the stock pump is rated at?? the vette boards say they are good to about 600 RWHP stock and 700 RWHP with the racetronix voltage upgrade setup.

anybody have any ideas???

im looking to spray a 100-150 shot on top of my 408 stroker, the car put down almost 500 RWHP all motor and im wondering if im going to start having problems with the stock pump?

600 RWHP?! WTF are you guys smoking? Do you have any idea how much power that is? Not to beat you up, but this entire site needs a reality check on RWHP numbers.

Your probably closer to the limit than you think already. A boost-a-pump or intank would be the best/safest addition

Honestly, I don't think many people know how much power 600 RWHP is, that means the engine would have to make over 750 at the crank! I've built, driven, raced and ridden in cars with 750 h.p., That power level is mind blowing, and extremely rare in any type of street application. To see these posts, time and time again where people just throw those numbers out in an as mater of fact way, kills me. I'm sure there are a few people here who can produce those power level, And I'm those people agree with me,but 95% of the people on LS1 tech, quite frankly have no clue how much power that is. And read my sig...I don't wanna hear what some chassis dyno said. Pull the engine out of the car and take it to an engine dyno, then I'll listen.

No one said anything about power adders. These guys throw those numbers around talking about N/A powerplants, Nitrous, and blowers are a differant ballgame. Just read some of these posts. Bolt ons, heads, exhaust, and poof! 600 RWHP! Give me an F-ing break.

Really 500 rwhp is absolutely pushing the factory vette pump to its limit. You should increase the voltage supply. 1 volt over baseline to the pump is worth about 10% in volume. High volume in tank pumps can be problematic on the saddle tank equipped Corvettes due to the reliance on a venturii "pump" to extract fuel from the other side of the car, not to mention installation issues.

Hey genius, you ever think gm may have lied about what the real crank horse power was from the factory on all the ls1 f-bodies??

Lied? If you ever worked in the industry you would know they do not lie about advertised H.P., it is a very serious offense. Toyota got sued by S.A.E. in '04 for doing just that. And for refering to me as a genius, well I didn't think that would come through in a simple typed message, but thanks for noticing.

Well your sig is about right on the money. My stock TA GM rated 305 put down 285rwhp on the chassis dyno youu so hate. And ran 13.3 @103 with a 2.0 60ft.
Then once heads and camed put down 405rwhp and went 11.6@118 with a 1.7 60ft so ya mid 11's on 400hp looks right to me.

Oh and to answer LostCauseZ06 question you are just about out of fuel as it is adding a good intank pump and hotwire kit will help you get to where you want to be. It is just extremely hard to install a Walbro in the Z06 tank.

Dude you need to relax..most well driven stock f body cars will run 13.10 -13.30 at 105+ (mine was 109) some even run high 12s.... 400 RWHP will get you well into the 11s ...low 11's if its a auto trans..you high jacked the mans post and then went on your little rant..you have no idea who you are ranting too..got one word for ya..DECAF..

PS Drive train loss is more like 12% on straight axle car IRS might use a little more..

Just the transmission alone (4L60E) on a 300 h.p. car is close to 20% loss! That is excluding any type of aftermarket stall converter, other engine driven accessories, body flex, suspension "wind up", or parasitic loss from rear axle (hypoid gear). If you were to consider all that I have listed, actual drivetrain loss would be closer to 30-35%.Where do you get 12% from? Keep in mind that sometimes the people you respond to on these boards are not complete morons, and sometimes they know alot more about a topic than you may initially be willing to give them credit for.

Well, no stock Z-28's put down 245 hp so 20% is incorrect.

Wow man, do you need somebody to stroke your ego? Ls7's are sae 505 i believe and put down 440-450 at the wheels, bust out your calculator. Rule of thumb is 15% on manual 18-20% loss on an auto.

A Manual transmission is what I am talking about..I don't care about automatics..my grandmother likes them though...I don't know you well enough to comment on wether you are a moron or not or about your intelligence or lack there of....but back to the subject at hand..motor made 525 HP on engine dyno..made 462RWHP on chassis dyno... do the math ..have a good day..
